Botafogo does not land on Free Fire thinking about being just another one. The club and Bird Cia, the company that manages Botafogo Esports, developed a strategic plan for the team to become a power in this modality and intends to start in the next stage of the Series B of the Brazilian League of Free Fire (LBFF) and will seek access the elite. The ‘Alvinegro’ will start participating in the sport's disputes in July.
"Joining Free Fire brings expectations for the growth of Botafogo Esports, strengthening our front in the scenario with expressive results in the entire ecosystem," says Bird CEO Vanessa Oliveira. "Entry into the modality promises to further encourage engagement not only with the Botafogo fans, but also in projects with endemic and non-endemic brands that already understand that eSports is the new sport! Our management has developed a detailed strategy for hiring the team official, which aims for high performance, discipline and visibility of our players."
At Valorant, the project had already been announced recently and the organization presents new information, such as its line-up:
Lucas "poti" Alex
Caique "faintz" Melia
Gabriel "palozera" França
Evandro "eternal" Monteiro
Gabriel "lugn" Leão
Vinicius "VN" Stradiotto (coach)
Lucas "TheLynx" Luro (manager)
Poti has already competed in Valorant Challengers Brasil (VCT) for Galaxy Carrots and recently reached the finals of SBT All Stars Valorant, where he faced Nicolino's team and lost 3-2, taking second place.
In addition to Poti, the team includes the experienced faintz and palozera, who defended important organizations in major FPS tournaments at Valve. Valorant's team debuted this Monday, 14, competing in the Ultimasters AOC, one of the main independent competitions in the scenario.
"Our first experience was in the PES scene, one of the most traditional football games, produced and distributed by Konami, which started in an 11x11 championship promoted by CBFDV in late 2020 and continued in early 2021 with eGol, official championship of the developer, in partnership with Globo, in the 3x3 modality," says the manager Lucas "TheLynx" Luro. "Today, we apply to our Valorant team, which is a great new challenge, extremely welcome and exciting! I have high expectations!"
Thus, Botafogo Esports is now present in three eSports modalities. This is because the club also competes in Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) virtual football. The entire Glorioso eSports project is managed by Bird Cia.
