As the inaugural event of the series “The Rules of Gaming”, the OAB/DF Gaming Law Commission will gather on June 29, at 10 am, international industry experts to discuss “Brazil Seen from Abroad”. The newly created group's first seminar will discuss topics ranging from the regulation of gaming in the country to issues such as responsible gaming, governance, integrity in sports, foreign investments in the Brazilian gaming market and other topics of relevance to the country.
At this first meeting, Sérgio Garcia Alves, president of the OAB/DF Games Law Commission, will receive speakers who know and follow the Brazilian and global markets. Cassandra Matilde, manager of Global Lottery Monitoring System, in Switzerland; Victoria Fernandes, manager of regulatory compliance at a Swedish sports betting company; and Pedro Cortés, partner at Rato, Ling, Lei & Cortés Advogados, in Macau, are the experts who will debate about gaming in Brazil.
The inaugural event intends to address, among other topics:
• Legal framework for gaming and regulation of the subject;
• Responsible Gaming and Public Health;
• Governance and regulation arrangements for state lotteries;
• Sports betting and integrity in sport;
• Foreign investments in the Brazilian gaming market;
• Casinos, regional development and tourism;
• Successful regulatory models in comparative law;
• Legislative, legal and doctrinal updates in Brazil and worldwide.
The Seminar “Brazil Seen from Abroad” will take place at 10 am (Brasilia time) on June 29 through the zoom platform.
