For the rapporteur of the proposal that was processed by the Committee on Economic Development, Industry, Trade and Services, deputy Geninho Zuliani (DEM-SP), “the scope of the proposal does not fit into any of the thematic fields provided for in art. 32, VI of the Internal Regulation.”
In his report, which was approved, Geninho suggests re-presenting the proposal with the indication of a commission whose thematic fields reach the activities involved in the desired inspection. In the document, the deputy attests “lack of competence of this Commission to do so.”
Theme remains on agenda
Even with the rejection of the proposal by Congressman Ottaci Nascimento (SOLI-RR), the topic remains on the agenda of the Chamber of Deputies, as another proposal, presented to the Oversight and Control Committee by Congressman Lucas Vergílio (SOLI-GO), intends the same type of verification, even there is still no date set for a public hearing on the matter.
PFC 11/2021 is under the report of Deputy Delegate Pablo (PSL-AM), also signed by Deputy Orlando Silva (PCdoB-SP), and is awaiting a new date for the public hearing that aims to discuss possible irregularities in the transfer of money to abroad by sports betting companies established abroad.
Lucas Vergílio recognizes the strength of the sector and highlights in his proposal that “the ideological struggle over the legalization or not of an activity recognized worldwide as a thriving industry, generating jobs and taxes is not discussed, however it is surprising that, before even if there is regulation of an activity, several international companies operate and profit.”
