Developed exclusively for Red Bull Flick, the event will bring eight maps - also known as ‘Arenas’ - unprecedented to Brazilian fans. In pairs, players will compete in fast-paced gameplay, about five to ten minutes long. The objective is to control capture points on the map for a certain period, with the capture point changing every 30 seconds. There will be a ticket countdown system to trick the score and when a team's tickets run out, they lose the game.
The competition's theme begins on planet BU-11, with each victory bringing the pairs closer to their final destination, the WI-nG playoff arena: 5. Each duo's journey begins on the "City Palace" map and, thus, it evolves. The duos will have to fight not to be forgotten and avoid succumbing to digital files.
"I believe this initiative by Red Bull Flick will be the biggest 2v2 event ever held and I'm very excited to be a part of it. The care in creating a specific game mode for the event, in addition to exclusive maps, can't help but be excited, right?”, says Kscerato, Furia player and one of the main names in the CS:GO world competitive scene.
Dispute system
In its first edition, Red Bull Flick already tests the agility of the participants at launch. There are only 1,200 vacancies for pro-players and amateurs, who need to recruit their duos. The qualifiers (June 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th) are MD1 (Best of a Game). In other words, lost, is out. The two best teams in each heat advance to the playoffs, whose format is the famous “double elimination”, with disputes in MD5 (Best of Five Games). The matches will take place on the 3rd of July. The top four advance to the big decision.
Before the final, competitors will gain a special experience: they will train with pro-players from FURIA's CS:GO female lineup, as well as a surprise with the participation of some of the best professional players in the world of the male lineup. After these gameplays, the four duos will compete in the semis and the final, in MD5 and MD7 formats, respectively, at the end of July.
The public will be able to follow all the emotions of the grand finale, on July 31, with live broadcast at https://www.twitch.tv/redbullpt and https://www.tiktok.com/@redbullbr. Icons of the scene, such as Gordox and Ana Xisdê, are in charge of the broadcast and, in the comments, streamers of Furia AbleJ and Mount will be keeping an eye on the duos' performance. The winning duo, in addition to experiencing special experiences throughout the competition, will also win the first national trophy in the tournament. Red Bull Flick also has the global partnership of AOC and local partnerships of Adidas and Aorus.
