Ronaldinho and Sergio Ramos played in an EA Sports Fifa 21 match. Winner of the match, the Brazilian won the right to make a donation of US$ 30,000 to the event. Defeated, the Spaniard donated US$ 20,000.
The two had already started the match on social networks last Friday (18), when Ronaldinho made a provocation on Twitter and posted a photo of an “El Clásico” against Sergio Ramos. The Spaniard responded by recalling that in the season in which the image was recorded the title ended with Real Madrid. The exchange of messages between friends was a warm-up for the event on Sunday (20).
This Monday (21), it was the turn of Briton Jesse Lingard, from West Ham, to face boxer Anthony Joshua, also British, in another FIFA 21 challenge among celebrities promoted by the event.
In 2021, Gamers Without Borders' main focus is raising money to donate to countries that cannot afford Covid-19 vaccines. The ultimate goal is to reach US$10 million.
CS:GO: MIBR and FURIA play in a US$1.5 million benefit tournament
MIBR and FURIA have another Counter-Strike: Global Offensive commitment confirmed ahead. The two teams will compete in Gamers Without Borders, a virtual charity festival that brings together teams from various games in competitions with high prizes, which will be donated to charities, chosen by the participants themselves.
In total, the event will distribute US$ 10 million, of which US$ 1.5 million will be allocated only to CS:GO.
The project will be supported by the Saudi Arabian Federation of Electronic and Intellectual Sports (SAFEIS), while the CS tournament will be organized by the well-known ESL fans. The dispute takes place between June 22nd and 27th and will feature eight teams, which have already been divided into two groups.
Between the 22nd and 25th, the group stage will take place. Whoever gets two wins advances to the playoffs and whoever suffers two losses is automatically eliminated. From the 26th, the playoffs will start in the simple elimination format, that is, whoever wins advances and whoever loses leaves the championship. All matches will be better than three (MD3).
One of the main goals of this edition of Gamers Without Borders is to distribute vaccines against COVID-19 to underdeveloped countries and communities at risk. The prize, which will be donated to charities chosen by the teams, will be divided as follows:
• 1st place: US$ 600k
• 2nd place: US$300k
• 3rd/4th place: US$150k each
• 5th/6th place: US$100k each
• 7th/8th place: US$ 50k each
