Lasting approximately 45 minutes, the show has caster André “Meligeni” and analyst “Ique” Monclar as presenters, as well as the entire cast of NiP that was in Paris. Athletes remember all the way to the coveted title, with the main focus on the matches against each opponent they faced.
“The idea of the special Ninja Method came from the need to understand the atmosphere built in Paris that culminated in Brazil's historic achievement. As the championship was held remotely, we were not able to provide fans with all the emotion that an event of this magnitude brings, and the show comes to fill this gap. And nothing better than listening for 45 minutes from the mouths of the players themselves everything they went through in France in the 11 days of competition. It is a talk show format in essence, relaxed and dynamic,” says Rob Vitorino, Communication Manager for Esports at Ubisoft Brasil.
In addition to crowning Brazil as the owner of the greatest title on the Rainbow Six Siege world stage, the Six Invitational 2021 also represented the largest award in the country's history in electronic sports. Together, the six participating Brazilian teams earned approximately R$10 million, at the current rate of the US dollar. The value corresponds to more than 65% of the total prize pool for the championship, which was US$3 million.
It is worth remembering that the podium was completely ‘green and yellow’, with Ninjas in Pajamas in first place, Team Liquid in second and MIBR in third. FaZe Clan, Team oNe and FURIA Esports, who also represented Brazil in the championship, advanced in the group stage and reached the playoffs, getting positions that ensured expressive awards for each.
The performance of the teams in the Six Invitational 2021 reinforces an idea that has been debated for years in the competitive scenario: Brazil is the country of the Rainbow Six Siege. With a well-structured national calendar of championships and the presence of players who are among the best in the world, famous foreign organizations in eSports invest in hiring Brazilian teams to represent them in national competitions - such as the Brazilian Championship and Copa do Brasil - and international competitions from modality.
“The work on the Brazilian competitive landscape of Rainbow Six Siege will continue. Being at the top of the country is important for all of Latin America and the goal is to remain one of the most competitive and strongest regions on the planet. We have a World Cup for national teams on the horizon and we want the country to raise that cup too. The goal is to show the world that Brazilians are passionate about Rainbow Six Siege and that we have the competitive level to be a world power in electronic sports in general,” reinforces Rob.
And this special about the trajectory of Ninjas in Pyjamas is another content production work by Ubisoft Brasil for fans of the sport. Throughout the Six Invitational 2021, Brazilian broadcasts caught the attention of even athletes from other countries for the variety of frames that brought information and entertainment to the public.
All games were broadcast in Portuguese on three Rainbow Six Esports Brazil channels, as well as debate tables between matches led by names such as Yudi Tamashiro, Léo Bianchi, Domitila Becker, as well as a whole team with narrators, commentators, analysts, and community casters.
“eSports and R6 fans can expect six world champion boys to open their hearts and share their pains and joys step by step during the biggest tournament ever won by a Brazilian team in the history of electronic sports in the country. I'm sure the public will be surprised with the result, just as we who produce were surprised,” concludes the Communication Manager for Esports at Ubisoft Brasil.
