Betsson, Wplay.co and Betcris led large bookmaker presence in World Cup Qualifiers

Games Magazine Brasil made a survey of the bookmakers from all over the region that sponsored the matches of the seventh round of the South American Qualifiers towards FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. There were nine different sports betting sites that invested in promoting their brands, either on LEDs, pitch mats or on boards behind the goals. Wplay.co was present in all the games, while Betsson had a presence in four matches, and Betcris accompanied Ecuador against Brazil.

It all started on Thursday with Bolivia's 3-1 victory over Venezuela in La Paz. There, European bookmaker Betsson, of enormous expansion in the Latin American market, and Wplay.co, the first sports betting house in Colombia endorsed by Coljuegos, had a brand presence with fixed advertising with mats on the side of the goals and also on the LEDs located in front of the TV broadcast.
 



In Montevideo, Uruguay received Paraguay and the match ended tied without goals. There, four sports betting sites had strong presence. Betsson and Wplay.co were joined by the Chilean version of Coolbet, a brand of the Stay Cool OÜ company that has a license from Estonia, Sweden, and Malta; and Aposta.LA, a brand of DARUMA SAM SA, a firm authorized to exploit gambling in Paraguay.

 



Then, the South American Qualifiers continued in Santiago del Estero where Argentina, with a penalty goal from Messi, drew 1-1 against Chile at the Madre de Cities stadium. Along with Betsson and Wplay, the brand BPlay, a sports betting site and online casino operated by Casino Puerto Santa Fe SA and by Boldt SA - Bgaming SA UT, appeared on the LEDs at the side of the pitch, under permission granted by the Lottery of Buenos Aires (LOTBA).

 

 

Friday ended with Colombia's 3-0 away win against Peru in Lima. There, Wplay.co was located on a mat next to one of the goals and on LEDs. In the TV broadcast aimed to Colombia it was also seen on a mat and LEDs Betsson brand’s Colbet, a leader in the local sports betting and online casino.

 

 

Finally, in that match also stood out the strong presence of Te Apuesto, Intralot's online gaming brand, official sponsor of the Peruvian National Team. Board behind a goal, an appearance in LEDs and a huge image on the stalls by the midfield for the broadcast aimed only to the Peruvian audience.

 

 

On Saturday, the Qualifiers date closed at Porto Alegre's Beira Rio with Brazil's 2-0 victory over Ecuador. That was the game that more sports betting houses had as sponsors with advertising boards. Betsson, Wplay.co and also Betfair.net appeared behind the goale and on LEDs; with Betfair.net also present in commercials on Globo's official broadcast on open TV for all of Brazil.

 



Betcris, the leading betting site in the region that is expanding strongly in Latin America, also made its appearance in this game. Since last March, the brand has been an official sponsor of the Ecuadorian National Team and, in this match, it accompanied coach Gustavo Alfaro's team with its image for the first time in LEDs.
 


Finally, it was possible to see the sponsorship of bookmaker Sportbet.ec, a product of the company SPORTBET SA, a venture that is committed to the local market and with great international projection; and also Coolbet, a betting site that, in addition to having a version for Chile, also runs a site for Ecuadorian gamblers.
