In this first story, the brand tells the promise of a “Galo” fan who promised his squad that one day he would climb the Everest and take the club's symbol with him. And the truth is that he would end up fulfilling his promise on May 23 this year, reaching the top of the highest mountain in the world, at 8,849 m, showing that even at 47 years of age "Every Results is Possible".
Ziller says he was born an Atlético fan. His grandfather Adelchi Ziller, who died in 2004, was one of the most important figures at the club in the 1980s. The athlete played in professional clubs as a teenager and says that even today he cannot imagine his life without the feeling provided by football.
One of the best and most precious moments in his life was when he took his daughters to watch Galo's victory over Olimpia, in the final of the 2013 CONMEBOL Libertadores in Belo Horizonte.
Gustavo describes that the feeling of reaching the top of Everest was exactly the same as when he celebrated winning the cup in the biggest tournament on the continent.
"I don't believe in superheroes, but in ordinary people doing extraordinary things. It's always nice to remember Victor's defense or the victory goal, but they're not superheroes. They're all people like us. They play with the collective. And I believe that the collective always does better than the individual. If it weren't for that, 2013 wouldn't have happened the way it did," he said.
In anticipation of the bi-championship of Atlético-MG in 2021, Ziller has reason to be proud. To date, only 26 Brazilians have climbed Everest. He was the first in his state, and the first “Galo” fan to achieve it.
The INCOMPARÁVEL Series
With the three episodes of the INCOMPARÁVEL series, Betfair wanted to provide a platform for fans to express their passion for the most popular sport in the world. Thus, they put football fans at the center of their own stories by showing what this sport really means to them.
The INCOMPARÁVEL series is presented by comedian Maurício Meirelles, ambassador of Betfair.net. The artist had fun with the story of the Atletico fan in the first episode and celebrated the result.
