"It was a very careful process - with many comings and goings - between Rensga and Riot Games Brasil to approve the partnership. This step we are taking is very interesting, because we are going to open a new path for all Brazilian organizations," says Djary Veiga, CEO of Rensga BitPreço.
Sponsorship of brands related to cryptocurrencies, however, was only partially allowed by the regulation of CBLOL, the biggest LOL competition in Brazil; that is, there are still some restrictions regarding this by Riot Games Brasil.
"Electronic sports have grown a lot on the national scene, and we are happy to participate in this movement. We see Rensga as a great partner for us to grow together, and we believe that we will have many victories ahead," comments Ney Pimenta, CEO of BitPreço, biggest marketplace of Latin American cryptocurrencies.
The brand of the new sponsor has already been present on the team's uniform since Saturday (7), when Rensga BitPreço faced LOUD in the MD5 series (best of five) valid for the quarterfinals of CBLOL.
CBLOL: Riot will not use Rensga's naming rights in broadcasts
Riot will continue to use only Rensga as the name of the organization from Goiás in its broadcasts and official contents of future editions of CBLOL, barring the use of sponsorship with BitPreço. The team recently sold its naming rights to the cryptocurrency company; Riot, in a statement given this Monday (11) to GE, stated that the negotiation had been authorized and that the permission was a global policy.
Later, press material from BitPreço revealed that there would be restrictions above naming rights. Again, in contact with GE, the Rensga BitPreço advisor explained what the restrictions would be: "It was decided by Riot Games Brasil that in its broadcasts and contents, the name "BitPreço" will not be linked to the name of Rensga eSports," reads official statement of the organization.
