CAIXA, the largest Brazilian bank in terms of number of customers, credit, digital accounts and savings deposits, announces its consolidated result for the second quarter (2Q21). It reached a net income of R$ 10.8 billion (US$2.03b) in 1H21, being the biggest 1H and 2Q of the entire historical series. There were R$6.3 billion (US$1.18b) in 2Q21, an increase of 144.7% compared to 2Q20.
Regarding the lotteries sector, it managed to collect R$ 3.8 billion (US$715m) in the second quarter of this year. The milestone was 33.9% higher than that calculated in the second quarter of 2020.
Of the total collected in 2Q21, R$1.9 billion (US$357m) was transferred to the Federal Government's social programs in the areas of social security, sports, culture, public safety, education and health, which corresponds to a transfer of 50.5% of the amount collected.
In 1Q21, the CAIXA Lotteries distributed R$1.5 billion (US$282m) in net prizes, which was 14% higher than the same period in 2020.
