GMB - What are Betcris' goals when participating in SAGSE Miami, especially as a Gold Sponsor?
Fernando Garita - As the main objective, the idea is to meet again with several potential providers and share with our industry colleagues, as well as support companies such as SAGSE, which are returning to organize face-to-face events.
Does the return of in-person events bring a new lease of life to Betcris, which has been standing out more and more in the Latin market?
Without a doubt. A few days ago there was another face-to-face event where we got together again in person and it was definitely very pleasant, as it is not the same thing to negotiate or share through a video call.
Is the format of the event suitable for Betcris' objectives?
Totally. We had been participating as a sports betting company in SAGSE events for over 13 years, where the main space was for retail, and events under this new network and roundtable concept are very effective for us as entrepreneurs.
Betcris has Latin America as its most important market. What does it represent for the company today and what can participating in SAGSE Miami enhance this performance even further?
We are definitely Betcris and we are LATAM. And it's no secret the number of new game providers, content, laboratories and regulators, which in these spaces are the most suitable to share experiences, business proposals and evaluate potential alliances for the near future of this accelerated process of digital transformation that this situation of pandemic generated on a worldwide level.
Is the company launching something new at SAGSE Miami or will it be a purely institutional participation?
SAGSE Miami will be the meeting point. We are currently not doing anything in Florida.
How does a company with a strong presence in Brazil, with so many activations especially in football, expect good contacts with Brazilians?
It is definitely not a secret that Miami is, so to speak, a very important business headquarters for Brazilian entrepreneurs. And this facilitates a more controlled and safer space at the health level so that we can meet and evaluate business and, as always, talk a little bit about regulation.
You will certainly be asked a lot about the current stage of the Brazilian market and the regulation of sports betting. How will you answer to those doubts?
I believe that, as all businessmen are very excited that the process and the rules of the gaming sector are finally defined, companies are preparing very well for Brazil, which will certainly be one of the most important markets in the region. And, once again, I am grateful for these well-known media spaces, such as Games Magazine Brasil, which allow us to share and be up to date with the industry. Without this responsible media coverage it wouldn't be the same, and it's always a pleasure to talk with you.
