The SECAP will hold another webinar on September 16, starting at 3 pm, to discuss issues related to the agency's performance. This time, the panel will address eSports and poker, two modalities that have been growing year after year in Brazil.
At the meeting, Gustavo Guimarães, SECAP Secretary, will receive Igor Federal Trafane, businessman linked to poker, president of the Pan American Poker Confederation and one of the main responsible for recognizing the activity as a game of skill, and Leo de Biase, director of BBL eSports.
Poker has transformed itself in recent years thanks to the work of Igor Federal to make the activity recognized as a sport of the mind. In addition, the sector is growing rapidly and the great example of this is the WSOP, a world poker championship that is increasingly attracting the attention of Brazilians. Many of the players who won rings and bracelets, the ultimate symbols of winning titles, are from Brazil.
As for eSports, Brazil has already consolidated itself as the third country in the world in the category, only behind China and the United States, with the main sports launching champions.
Currently, the vertical has more than 215 million fans in the world, 10% only in Brazil. More than electronic sports, the activity is a lucrative business, with global revenues exceeding US$ 1 billion.
All these issues will be discussed in the SECAP webinar, which has already made available a form for pre-questions that will support the debates, in addition to those to be asked directly through the YouTube chat during the panel.
