Rogério Cruz Guapindaia, who presented himself as CEO of Alphabets, began to be investigated after closing the operation; in less than 48 hours, 18 clients who claim to have been injured sought the São Pedro da Aldeia police station. In a post published by the RLagos Notícias page, the invitation to the demonstration, entitled "Request for justice", stated that "90% of the city of Cabo Frio was harmed by the company."
Suspected of operating as a financial pyramid, Alphabets Investimentos ended its activities last Wednesday (8), causing fear on the part of investors and people who would have to receive payments from the company. A day after the closing, Rogério Cruz Guapindaia, who claimed to be the CEO of Alphabets, published a video reacting to the accusations and saying that he "has influence within the government" and "police friends".
In 2017, Rogério Cruz was convicted of international drug trafficking and association for trafficking. He was arrested in the act on October 1, 2016, when he landed at the Natal International Airport, in Rio Grande do Norte, with three kilos of ecstasy in his suitcase. Since yesterday, he has been investigated by the 125th DP (São Pedro da Aldeia) for various crimes, including embezzlement.
“You have no idea who you're messing with. You don't know who my legal body is. The police friends I have. The influence we have within the government. So, pay attention when you go to threaten or do something,” said the businessman on Alphabets Instagram.
In less than 48 hours, 18 people registered the occurrence online and have already started to be heard at the police station. All report being victims of a coup. For customers, the video was "a threat. He leaves, he doesn't answer and now he makes this video? That's a threat. We want our money back," says a woman who lives in Cabo Frio and has investments with Alphabets.
According to police chief Milton Siqueira Júnior, holder of the 125th DP, until last Thursday, “18 people who took defaults registered a police report” in São Pedro da Aldeia.
“This company is from Cabo Frio. But, until yesterday, at the Delegacia Online (Dedic), there were 18 requests from people, from São Pedro da Aldeia, who defaulted on him. We started the registration just yesterday. Let's call every Alphabets customer who is doing the RO (occurrence record) here in São Pedro da Aldeia to be heard. Many of these allegedly injured people claim that they invested a lot of money, and he left,” highlighted the delegate.
