NetBet shortlisted for Compliance Team of the Year Award

NetBet announced that the company has been shortlisted for the Compliance Team of the Year at the VIXIO Gambling Compliance Global Regulatory Awards 2021 (GRA). It has been recognised as an industry leader in responsible gambling, continually evolving and encouraging a culture of compliance throughout the company. 'NetBet has always put compliance at the forefront of our operations for over 20 years,” says firm's Head of Compliance, Alex Henderson.

NetBet’s heavy investment into their compliance team has enabled them to make significant changes across all its licensed markets to ensure it exceeds in every area of compliance, placing the customer at the heart of every decision.

As of 2021, NetBet has expanded its compliance team to include a Head of Compliance, a group MLRO, seven compliance officers, and made many additions to its AML team and Safer Gambling department.

NetBet has gone above and beyond the standard approach of offering self-limiting tools; they have transformed compliance culture entirely.

The team has evolved its approach to assessing customer affordability to better protect players. The new process involves using a rigorous affordability calculator to assess prospective customers’ eligibility for site interaction.

They also undertake regular training and development sessions on how to improve compliance culture, which have seen them achieve significant compliance recognition and internal awards.

These progressive steps have seen their compliance function go from strength to strength and the company has since garnered praise from industry experts. We are committed to speaking with transparency on the subject of responsible gambling, hosting workshops promoting responsible gambling and keeping the conversation open,” states the company.

This effort towards cultural change means that NetBet have managed effective compliance in all existing markets, as well as in new markets such as Greece where they have obtained new licences and continued their online expansion.
