According to the project, the operation of the lottery service in the Municipality of Colatina is limited to the territory of Colatina, and the existing Federal Law for each lottery modality must be observed, where applicable.
The project foresees that for the capture of bets or the sale of tickets, it is allowed the use of physical or virtual means. Tickets will only be sold to persons of legal age, who are located within the limits of the Colatina territory, in the case of physical means, or who declare residence in the Municipality of Colatina, in the case of virtual means.
Service may be outsourced
The bill also foresees that the lottery service of the Municipality of Colatina should be executed, directly or indirectly, and supervised by the Municipal Secretariat of Finance.
Public funds from the Colatina Municipality lottery, including prizes not claimed by players included in the draw, will be allocated to programs in areas of relevant public interest, such as technological innovation, education, culture, sports, leisure and tourism.
Article 4 of the bill states that bettors lose the right to receive their prizes if payment is not claimed within ninety (ninety) days, counted from the date of publication of the result.
The aforementioned Bill was sent by Mayor Guerino Balestrassi on August 10 to the City Council. The analysis of the Committees on Legislation, Justice and Final Writing, Finance and Budget, Works and Public Service, unanimously decided to approve the project.
The Bill that creates the Colatina municipal lottery, which was approved in the first discussion by the majority of councilors in the session held last September 13, now goes to the second and final vote at the Ordinary Session today, September 20.
