Chamber celebrates World Tourism Day with debate on Brazil regulatory gaming framework

In celebration of the World Tourism Day, the Chamber of Deputies will hold from September 28 to 30, from 12 pm to 5 pm, an exhibition and seminar that will address, among other topics, the discussion of the regulatory framework for gaming in Brazil. The events are being promoted by the Tourism Committee of the House, the Ministry of Tourism and by the Brazilian Agency for the International Promotion of Tourism (Embratur).

The event in commemoration of World Tourism Day (September 27), created by the World Tourism Organization (WTO), takes place from September 28 to 30, from 12 pm to 5 pm and is an initiative of the President of the Tourism Commission, Deputy Bacelar (Pode-BA), bringing together the main leaders of national tourism and with an exhibition space for the dissemination of the main cultural characteristics of the Brazilian regions.

The inauguration of the Tourism Week Panel is scheduled for 5 pm this Tuesday, 28, at Espaço Mário Covas of the Chamber of Deputies with the following invited authorities:

- Deputy Arthur Lira – President of the Chamber of Deputies;

- Senator Rodrigo Pacheco – President of the Federal Senate;

- Deputy Bacelar – President of the Chamber of Deputies Tourism Committee;

- Gilson Machado Neto – Minister of Tourism;

- Senator Fernando Collor – President of the Commission for Regional Development and Tourism of the Federal Senate;

- Carlos Brito – President of the Brazilian Agency for the International Promotion of Tourism (Embratur);

- Zurab Pololikashvili – Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (WTO).

The event will have a hybrid format, that is, in person and online. To participate, interested parties must enter the seminar page to register.

It is expected that the representatives of the tourism area take the opportunity to deliver to the President of the Chamber, Deputy Arthur Lira, an official document with the main demands and proposals of the sector. The Working Group (WG) created for the revision of Bill 442/91 should comment on the recent declarations by President Jair Bolsonaro that he will be able to veto the regulation of the gaming sector in Brazil.

On September 30th, as part of the Seminar “Tourism on the Agenda – Perspectives and Trends for Tourism in Brazil”, takes place the panel “Creation of the Regulatory Framework for Gaming in Brazil,” in Plenary 7, Annex II of the Chamber of Deputies, moderated by Federal Deputy Newton Cardoso Jr -member of the WG-, and with the participation of Deputy Delegado Pablo and the president of the Legal Gaming Institute (IJL) Magno José.
