Expansion in the European market

Betcris takes its leading sports betting brand to Poland

Since it was established in Latin America, Betcris has been known as the main sports wagering operator throughout the region, a leader for its transparent and fair-play solutions that is now looking for international expansion. Betcris has now started its foray into the European market becoming the latest licensed operator to offer its services in Poland. “It is a great day for Betcris. Starting operations in Poland was a great choice,” said Betcris CEO JD Duarte.

Poland has fostered a solid sports wagering market over the recent years. Last year, it saw a handle of roughly USD1.85 billion, with private operators contributing USD205.6 million to the country through tax revenue. The past two years have brought double-digit growth in the online gaming industry in the country, with extensive gains seen during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Betcris CEO JD Duarte asserts: “It is a great day for Betcris. Starting operations in Poland was a great choice, the local work team has made sure that the Betcris brand maintains its level of excellence and we are excited about all the possibilities that this opens for us as a company.”

Betcris has earned its leadership position in Latin America and now that we come to Poland, we will continue to make history. I love entering new markets and zeroing in on what makes customers happy. We have a great team that I’m sure will accomplish great things. Polsko, wchodzimy do gry!” Duarte added.

The launch in Poland is only one piece of the organization’s extensive global brand methodology to build its European presence, and the experience acquired in the Polish market will permit Betcris to understand European wagering patterns and the profile of the local bettor.

Last year, Betcris started to research how to become part of Poland’s legal sports betting scene, dissecting the particulars of the market prior to choosing to offer an online sportsbook. It realized that, because of the COVID-19 situation, local retail organizations were scaling back or shutting down their operations, which served as an impetus for an online-only alternative from the sportsbook.

Clarifies Board Member of Betcris company in Poland, Jacek Jakubowski: “Poland is one of the most dynamically developing markets in Europe with operators offering services at a high level. It is a very competitive market, but we strongly believe that our brand, based on our attractive product and the many years of experience we have in other countries combined with excellent customer service, will meet the expectations of Polish clients and let us build a strong position in this market.”

Poland updated its gaming laws through the Gambling Act of 2017. This adjusted the overall influence in the market by presenting clarified and more succinct controls of the country’s sports betting industry section. While there have been some minor changes made to the regulations since then, these have not had a major impact on the overall industry of certain wagering brands.

With a solid and stable environment now in place, Betcris can venture into Poland and deliver its world-class sports betting options to the new markets.
