During the meeting of Cibelae, held last December, the members of the entity's new Board of Directors for the biennium 2021-2023 were elected, which was composed as follows:
Presidency: National Beneficent Lottery (El Salvador)
First Vice-Presidency: National Directorate of Lotteries and Quinielas (Uruguay)
Second Vice Presidency: National Organization for the Blind of Spain
General Secretariat: National Gaming Commission (Paraguay)
Treasury: Social Protection Council (Costa Rica)
Members: Santa Casa de Misericórdia (Portugal), Sociedad Estatal de Loterías y Apuestas de Estado (Spain), La Pacifique des Jeux (French Polynesia), Lotería Nacional (Mexico) and Lotería de Medellín (Colombia).
On the occasion, the organization renewed Rodrigo Cigliutti's contract as executive director of Cibelae.
Representing Brazil, Loteria da Paraíba and SDL Loterias were incorporated into the organization.
The Paraíba State Lottery - Lotep is a state agency linked to the Department of Tourism and Economic Development. Since their creation, in 1955, they have been carrying out activities without interruptions, more recently reinforced with the decision of the STF, of 09/30/2020, which judged that the Union does not have the monopoly to maintain lottery games, and that, therefore, lottery is the provision of a public service that can be exploited by the states.
Therefore, LOTEP is exclusively responsible for the entire territory of Paraíba to authorize and supervise the operation of lottery games and activities, as well as to decide on their regularity, homologation of results, compliance with legality and the respective rendering of accounts throughout the State of Paraíba.
SDL Loterias, headquartered in Minas Gerais, is a traditional distributor of lottery products, such as Tele Sena and carnês do Baú, by Liderança Capitalização, and instant lotteries operated by Loteria Mineira.
Its products are distributed at points of sale throughout the state of Minas Gerais, such as lottery outlets, newsstands, bakeries and pharmacies, among others.
