After 4 years, Brazilian betting market solidifies

Discredited after the tough elimination at the 2014 World Cup, in 2018 the Brazilians saw the team fall in the quarter-finals to Belgium. Since then, a lot has changed, including the bettor's behavior. Betfair's report analyses data related to the Russian Cup and shows a gap in preferences for champions among Brazilian and foreign bettors.

Although the profiles believed in the title of Brazil in 2018, international bettors placed Germany, France and Spain as the other favorites in this sequence. While in Brazil, the bets went to Spain, Germany and Uruguay. That year, the big winner was the French national team after a 4-2 win against Croatia.
