In the making of an advertising campaign for the digital sports betting and entertainment platform BRBet.com, aired in Brazil on digital media and outdoors (OOH) since November, former heavyweight boxing world champion Mike Tyson recalls, with good humor, his controversial passage through the country, in 2005, to reveal all his admiration for Brazil and its people.
During the chat with the campaign's production team, recorded in Florida (USA) last September, the eternal daredevil says he had never known a place where people were so happy. For this reason, he refers to Brazil as “God's Country”.
“I've been to different parts of the world, I've seen different places, but I've never seen a place where people are happier,” he admits. “They just forget about the suffering and the pain and all that and put a smile on their face. Everyone smiling, drinking, hugging and kissing. It doesn't have grimaces or other faces. Everyone is simply happy in this life. If they don't have money, they are happy; if they have, they are too... Brazil is simply God's Country. And it has to be, because everything there is beautiful! Dogs are beautiful, everyone is beautiful. The cats, the beaches, the sand and everything...”
Tyson also says he is “blessed by Brazilians”, for the way he is still revered today as one of the most important names in the history of world boxing. “I am very grateful for the way they treat me in Brazil; I'm very grateful for that. Brazilians make you feel awkward with so much love that sometimes it's too much. I can't take it [laughs]. I feel like no one deserves to be treated so well. I am blessed by Brazilians.”

The former boxing world champion was named BRBet.com's ambassador for the Brazilian market in October, and the advertising campaign starring him was Tyson's first in the country.
