GMB - What is your assessment of Betsson's performance and growth in 2022? Was it what you expected or did it exceed expectations?
Andre Gelfi - Satisfied with the achievements and with renewed hope for next year. In 2022 we had an expressive growth compared to 2021. We made substantial progress in the positioning of the brand, conquered new spaces, and we are convinced that these are the first steps of a journey that has just begun.
Could you list the main accomplishments or goals achieved?
2022 was the year of the inauguration of our LatAm regional hub in Bogotá/Colombia, a milestone for our projects in the region. We had a year of much learning and growth within the Group and Latin America was a highlight.
We also won some awards, which in the coming weeks we will publish a balance of what was obtained.
In your sector within the industry, what topics or technological advances do you think will dominate the market in 2023? What will be the future trends?
In Brazil 2023, technological advances must be overshadowed by the regulatory agenda… If the regulations go as planned, we should have an intense year, as it will be within a new context, full of new challenges. The tendency is for the market to have a different face in the short/medium term.
Have you noticed that the Brazilian gaming market has evolved this year, or has it missed another opportunity? What do you see about the regulation in the country for 2023?
The market has grown, and is maturing. The regulation was delayed and we believe it will be published in the short term, as the society has already "approved" sports betting. The incessant growth of this market, which already moves and earns billions of reais, proves this statement.
What are Betsson's main goals/objectives for 2023?
Fine-tuning our value proposition to the market in which we operate, with the greatest granularity possible. Brazil is a diverse continent, full of demographic, cultural and economic nuances.
