Procon/MS has notified the companies to inform if they have authorization from Caixa Econômica Federal for the sale of bets and lottery tickets online, and they must present copies of these documents, as well as the articles of incorporation of the companies.
The sites will also have to explain the values charged for each type of service provided and what guarantees and amenities consumers who enjoy the services have.
Caixa identified fifteen unofficial websites and applications that collect bets from official lotteries, improperly using Caixa Econômica’s brands. These sites receive money from gamblers and do not place bets on Caixa Econômica Federal's official lottery system.
The sites also do not send customers proof of bet, the only document accepted for receiving the prize.
Currently, the only official channels for online betting are the Caixa lottery portal, the Caixa Loterias app and Caixa internet banking.
