Sportradar has an agreement with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), which covers state federations and also their competitions Serie C, Serie D and youth leagues.
After the 9-2 defeat by Atlético-CE in the penultimate round of the first phase of the Campeonato Cearense, Crato was suspended on suspicion of club members in a match-fixing scheme. The court's decision was based on a report presented by Sportradar that crosses results considered out of the ordinary with bets made on industry websites — Campeonato Cearense's main sponsor is a of these companies, 1XBET, which gives the competition its name.
"Such reports give rise to a very serious verification of manipulation of results, involving the association of Crato, possibly by its leaders and athletes, and that on Wednesady there was a match involving such association against Atlético Cearense where it is emphasized that Crato Esporte Clube was defeated by and unbelievable score of 9 to 2, which in itself shows a clear indication of manipulation of results,” wrote Fernandes in his decision.
The documents will be forwarded to the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD), to the Ethics and Discipline Commission of the CBF and to the Criminal Investigation Center of the Public Ministry of the State of Ceará. In January, the newspaper "O Povo" revealed that audios indicated the manipulation of results in games of Ceará clubs as early as 2021 - the case is being investigated by the Ceará MP. Crato, Caucaia and Barbalha are the investigated in clashes of Série D of Brasileiro and Cearense.
Sportradar reports investigate five Crato matches in Cearense. Before the 9-2, the team had already won 7-0 against Iguatu, 5-0 against Pacajus and 4-0 against Ferroviário.
Crato and Atlético Cearense already entered the pitch on Wednesday relegated to Serie B do Cearense in 2022. Crato added five points in the competition, in 13 matches, with just one win and two draws - there were five goals for and 36 against. Ceará and Fortaleza, the main clubs in the State and which are in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship, have not yet started participating in Cearense, only entering from the next stage.
