According to art. 64 of the proposal, the exploitation of online betting “will depend on a specific regulation for this purpose, to be prepared by SECAP (Secretariat of Evaluation, Planning, Energy and Lottery, of the Ministry of Economy)”.
The only certainties about online betting are the establishment of the gaming and betting inspection tax, in the amount of R$ 600,000 (US$ 191,130) every quarter per registered domain, and the mandatory availability of data on players and platform operators for inspection by the Ministry of Tourism.
All day yesterday (23), Carreras maintained a permanent dialogue with the leaders of the benches to analyze the 37 amendments that the project received in order to give shape to the final text, very well stitched and which was presented in the Plenary shortly after 10:00pm.
Some of the amendments were accepted and among the last minute changes, it was also decided to remove sports betting (fixed quota) from the Bill, as the Ministry of Economy is already in the final stages of a regulation supported by law 13,756 of 2018.
