“I've been on the mat since I was 9 years old and today I'm a brown belt on Team Alpha Male. I left the corporate career five years ago to dedicate myself exclusively to jiu-jitsu and I got some expression titles. However, I had to have my spine operated for the second time, I was in a wheelchair and unfortunately I had to get away from what I love most, which is fighting jiu-jitsu. As I also have a high-functionality Autism Spectrum Disorder and am hyper-focused on jiu-jitsu, I had to occupy my head so I don’t get depressed and I found some ways to do that until I got to My Fight Bet,” explained Natália, who has a master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
“I saw a gap in the jiu-jitsu and grappling betting market and asked myself: why don't I do it myself? So I talked to the organizers of Submission Circus, with whom I had already worked, and next Sunday we have our first event,” she added.
Made with great dedication and by a person extremely passionate about the sport, Natália wants, through My Fight Bet, to benefit athletes and their respective families, who still fight for greater financial value in the modality. She also recalled the support of her wife and athlete, Camila Guerra, and her family in this journey.
“Betting on jiu-jitsu is literally that, giving value to our sport. Why bet only on football and MMA, for example? I always say that if we were football athletes we would be millionaires, but as we are jiu-jitsu athletes, things change. I think the site is a way of praising and valuing the sport, who is with us on the journey. I'm paying cash prizes to the winners of the main cards, so betting is investing in the sport.”
Also according to Natália, the final project for My Fight Bet is to encompass all possible grappling and Jiu-Jitsu events, growing organically and exponentially. However, at the beginning of her journey, she is already facing the interest of other modalities, and the plans can be increased.
“The initial idea was to cover jiu-jitsu and grappling, but I managed to close with Thunder Fight as well, an event that no other bookmaker considered, and businessmen from other modalities came to me, such as Boxing and Muay Thai. Maybe I'll reconsider the format of the business, because it's going at the speed of light,” projected the athlete and businesswoman.
Safety first
Finally, Nespati made a point of talking about the technical part of My Fight Bet, which can be accessed by anyone over 18 in Brazil, being duly legalized and registered in the United States, respecting Brazilian legislation.
“The site is extremely safe and has some differences in relation to other bookmakers. A user (per IP) can only bet on one athlete per fight. This is intended to prevent manipulation of them. As I'm from IT, I took this special care. All registrations are studied by algorithm and the payment platform is one of the safest in Brazil, all to avoid fraudulent transactions. Together with the managers, I also define an amount of value for each fight, again to prevent agreements and athletes from not fighting. We want to see war,” she concluded.
