According to the project approved by the Chamber, to host a casino, the developments must have high-end hotels with at least 100 rooms, places for meetings and large events, restaurants, bars and shopping centers.
Businessman Lucas Izoton, who is one of the owners of the Hotel Vista Azul, in Pedra Azul, said that if the regulation is not so strict, perhaps the hotel will be able to adapt to receive the casino.
The property has 229 apartments in total. “It would serve a minimum of 100 high-end hotel rooms. The 229 apartments are part of a condominium. Therefore, there would have to be an assembly of the condominium members on the subject,” he said.
But he pointed out that, in any case, investing in the region's infrastructure is essential. “Anyone who goes to a casino doesn't want to waste time. The duplication of the BR-262 to Pedra Azul must be speeded up. Improving the infrastructure of the countryside and having an airport are minimal things.”
He understands that Pedra Azul is at the front to receive the enterprise because those who go to a casino want a more reserved place. “A beach place is already more popular.”
Entrepreneur Valdeir Nunes explained that for the number of hotels and restaurants in the region today, the infrastructure is very good. But he pointed out that a casino would attract even more improvements.
Another place that is also quoted to receive the project is Guarapari. The city has even housed a hotel-casino: the Radium Hotel.
The director of the Espírito Santo Commerce Federation, José Carlos Bergamin, explained that Pedra Azul and Guarapari are more established places, where the public already circulates. Therefore, they are more highly rated. “It will work out faster.”
According to the proposal approved by the Chamber, the projects must operate in integrated leisure complexes, which must have high-end hotels with at least 100 rooms, places for large-scale meetings and events, restaurants, bars and shopping centers. The physical space of the casino must correspond to a maximum of 20% of the total built area.
Localization
The Ministry of Economy will consider the existence of tourist heritage to be valued and the potential for the economic and social development of the region that will receive the enterprise.
In Espírito Santo, considering the project as it is currently, there can only be one casino with an integrated leisure complex, since the population is less than 15 million inhabitants. In addition, the State may have a tourist casino.
Jobs
The Federation estimate is that the opening of a casino in the state will create a total of 7,500 jobs, moving an entire chain that involves bars, restaurants, hotels, leisure, shows, shows and cultural attractions.
