In addition to amending the Pelé Law (Law 9615/98) to include the eSports administration entity in Brazil, the project also amends Law 13,756, of 2018, which deals with the destination of the proceeds from the lottery collection, to forward 0, 04% of the resources to programs and projects for the promotion, development and maintenance of sport.
The proposal also provides for the allocation of this percentage of resources for training and technical preparation, maintenance and locomotion of athletes and for the promotion of participation in sporting events.
The text also proposes that the inspection of the application of resources destined to CBDEL be carried out by the Federal Audit Court (TCU).
In justifying the proposal, Rose de Freitas recalled the “importance and relevance of electronic sports in today's world” and asked for support from parliamentarians for the project's approval.
"It is the State's duty to promote formal and non-formal sports practices, as a right of each one. Today's world is experiencing the reality of electronic sports, or eSports, whose competitions have worldwide recognition. Like other sports, eSports are divided into high-performance, participatory, and educational eSports,” she said.
