Player’s Bank, Itaú’s new offering of financial services, was created precisely for those who fully understood the first lines of this text: gamers. The new solution is the result of months of co-creation with some of the exponents of the country's gaming and eSports scene.
Itaú sought to understand its needs and objectives with the community, so that it was possible to open an important channel of dialogue to arrive at a proposal that delivers value and makes sense to them. The bank's partners had first-hand access to the application and, through Discord - a very popular platform among players -, they signaled opportunities for improvement.
The next co-created development step is to make the app available to more people in the community, from a large network of beta testers in the coming months, before the Player's Bank is made available to the general public.
“Over the last few months, we've worked a lot in partnership with several relevant influencers and organizations in this ecosystem and we've had very rich exchanges. We set out to carry out a legitimate process of active listening, in order to – in a very modern way – enter the world of games,” comments Robson Harada, gamer and head of Growth Marketing at Itaú Unibanco.
“Our value proposition is to be the bank that plays together and, not by chance, all the development was done by a squad of employees who are real players, based on a dynamic similar to that of games: based on phases, evolving from continuous way and in conjunction with this new guild that is being born. The Player’s Bank was made by gamers for gamers,” explains Harada.
Even in the beta phase, the first version of the solution already brings relevant news to the market. “We are building strategic and robust partnerships with several companies in this ecosystem, so that partners can also help us build this new financial product, in a collaborative and transparent way, tackling real pains in this market: with the best benefits, experiences and journeys for our customers,” concludes Ricardo Scussel, gamer and head of Products at Itaú Unibanco.
Among the benefits of the free digital account are the balance with automatic income of 100% of the CDI and unlimited Pix. In addition, Player's Bank customers will have a credit card with no annual fee forever, with the possibility to issue the virtual version immediately after approval and customize the plastic with skins from the gamer universe.
The bank will also give access to the Player's Club, where discounts of up to 50% on computers, consoles and peripherals and 5% cashback on purchases with credit at partner stores will be granted. Other differentials will be the first level service done via Discord and exclusivity in championships and content with partner influencers.
Among the various actions to get closer to the gamer audience, the institution has invested in the development of Camp Wars, a game developed by Brazilian Pedro Caxa that originated soon after its creator had great repercussion on TikTok. Harada points out that there are major studios developing national games as good as those coming from abroad, however, the objective they seek is to give voice and visibility to projects like Pedro's, which for the gamer community is a phenomenon.
