With important Brazilian presence, ICE London opens its doors in its most anticipated edition

Two years since its last edition (February, 2020) and after several postponements due to the pandemic, ICE London returns, the largest gaming industry trade show in the world. The long-awaited event takes place from 12 to 14 at ExCeL London and promises to receive more than 35,000 participants, with 410 companies from 59 countries exhibiting their new products and services. The Brazilian market will be represented through various panelists in the ICE VOX cycle and in 10 stands, including Games Magazine Brasil, which will receive those interested at ND2-C.

For Carlos Cardama, CEO of Games Magazine Brasil, this will be his 25th consecutive participation since his fist visit to ICE London in 1997, without missing any edition. This year, the executive of the most important Brazilian media outlet in the market invites companies interested in reaching Brazil, clients and friends at stand ND2-C. In the same place, the organizers of the Brazilian iGaming Summit will also receive international companies that wish to expand and have a presence in the second edition of the most important event in the sector in the country.

ICE London provides a space to connect with over 35,000 participants to find new business and develop high-quality partnerships. Participants are part of the land-based sector, iGaming, sports betting, lotteries and bingo verticals from more than 150 countries, including Latin America as one of the regions with the greatest potential to create the opportunities that the industry players seek in the market.
 


ICE London was originally scheduled to run from 1-3 February, and iGB Affiliate London from 2-5 February. However, they were delayed due to the Omicron variant of Covid-19. These events will now run from April 12-14 and April 13-14, respectively.

Clarion reported that 59 jurisdictions will be represented by exhibiting companies on the show floor at ICE London 2022, including Brazil. The total number of exhibiting companies is 410 and countries represented in pre-registration are 158.
 


ExCeL London will host both ICE and iGB Affiliate events. The week kicks-off with the ICE VOX conference today (11). The World Regulatory Briefing and International Casino Conference will be the first conference.

BRAZIL AT LONDON 2022

In addition to Games Magazine Brasil, another nine Brazilian companies or those that operate in the country with own offices, will have a stand at ICE London.

BRASIL AT ICE VOX 2022

ICE VOX provides world class insight delivered by industry thought leaders and is integral to the ICE experience. This year the agenda has been amended in order to deliver highly targeted Masterclasses covering a range of business-critical topics, which will be discussed and explored in full.

On Tuesday (12), Masterclass #5 “Global market roundtables” will have several rounds on different markets. From 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm (UK time, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Brasilia time), Roundtable 3 is dedicated to Brazil only and will analyze this emerging market, including proposals for easing online and land regulations. Luiz Felipe Maia (founding partner of MAIA-YOSHIYASU), Leonardo Baptista (co-founder and CEO, Pay4Fun) and Tal Itzhak Ron (Founder and Global CEO, Tal Ron, Drihem & Co., Law Firm) will speak on these topics.

The following day (13), the Responsibility & Reputation Masterclass #9: “LatAm masterclass: The operational, strategic and regulatory 'musts' of doing business in Latin America” will present a Keynote with Andre Gelfi (Managing Partner, Brazil , Betsson). From 2:00 pm to 2:15 pm (UK time, 11:00 am to 11:15 am Brasília time) the masterclass will provide an overview of the main challenges as well as an essential model for establishing a solid foundation for business in Brazil. The speaker will share knowledge on what to consider when choosing a Brazilian company to partner with, what to look for in a supplier and what suppliers need from European operators.

Subsequently, Luiz Felipe Maia (founding partner of MAIA-YOSHIYASU) will be part of the “Shared Experience: Regulatory Panel: Discover which Latin American market can meet the demands of your business”. From 2:50 pm to 3:30 pm (UK time, 11:50 am to 12:30 pm Brasilia time), this session brings together a panel of gaming regulators from Latin America, including Argentina and Brazil, the markets of greatest interest to operators today as they are in the process development of a legal framework for the expansion of gaming.

Maia will share the panel with Ida Lopez (President, IPJYC Mendoza), Santiago Cortabarria (Chief Information Officer, Lottery Province of Buenos Aires), Sebastian Vivot (CTO, Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires), Idalynn Ortiz (Executive Director of Gaming by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company) and Omar Galdurralde (President, IPLyC, Province of Buenos Aires – Video presentation), moderated by Karen Sierra-Hughes (VP Latin America & Caribbean - GLI).

From 4:30 pm to 4:50 pm (UK time, 1:30 pm to 1:50 pm Brasilia time) “Spotlight: Brazil's ecommerce transformation and Pay4Fun's expansion plans in Latin America” will take place, talking about an emerging Brazilian payment provider and the challenges of local market as it seeks expansion on the continent, with Leonardo Baptista (co-founder and CEO, Pay4Fun) and Ari Celia (co-founder, Pay4Fun).

At the end of the day, from 4:50 pm to 5:30 pm (UK time, 1:50 pm to 2:30 pm EDT) the panel “Shared experience: Does controlling the number of licenses issued fight industry threats or does it just threaten free trade?”, which will feature experts from Latin America from different jurisdictions, debating whether the number of licenses issued should be limited. Luiz Felipe Maia (founding partner of MAIA-YOSHIYASU), Karen Sierra-Hughes (VP Latin America and the Caribbean, GLI) and Gabriel Grados (CFO - La Tinka) will be the speakers, moderated by Neil Montgomery (founder and managing partner, Montgomery & Associates).
