ICE LONDON recognizes Waldir Marques Jr for his 15-year career with gaming in Brazil

The Brazilian market is experiencing a very special day today. In a ceremony held in London, the most important gaming industry fair in the world presented the ICE London Landmark Award to Waldir Marques Junior, Undersecretary of Prizes and Draws of the Economy Ministry, in recognition of his incredible 15 years' service to gaming in Brazil. Marques Jr. was unable to travel but appointed Carlos Cardama, CEO of Games Magazine Brasil, to receive the distinction in his place.

The awards ceremony was held at the Clarion Gaming stand N2-245 at ICE London where the winners and guests were received with drinks and light refreshments.

The ICE London Landmark Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations active in the gambling space.

I would like to express how proud and honored I am to know that I am the winner of such an important award. This is an international recognition of my hard work these years in the gaming sector in my country,” expressed Marques Jr. exclusively to Games Magazine Brasil minutes after the ceremony, in a message of thanks that he also sent to Clarion.

In a letter addressed to the organizers, Waldir Marques also praised and wished the event success: “I take this opportunity to thank you and ICE London for the difference and I wish from the deep of my heart that the event be successful.

Due to work commitments related to the area, Waldir had to cancel his trip to London and asked Clarion to take his place Carlos Cardama, CEO of Games Magazine Brasil, who received the award from Stuart Hunter, Managing Director of Clarion Gaming, and Ewa Bakun, firm’s director of industry insight and engagement.

It is an honor and a pride to bring this award to my dear friend of so many years, and to receive it on his behalf. The distinction is more than deserved for a person who throughout these 15 years has been able to study, learn and train. Waldir Marques has the virtue of seeking permanent dialogue with the local and international gaming sector that respects him for his generous attention and knowledge,” said Cardama.
