GMB - What are AIDIGLOT's main goals?
Mirko Mayeroff - Gather and regulate lottery game intermediaries and consolidate the discussion on this sector in search of regulation. To be a platform to broaden the discussion with Caixa Econômica Federal and Brasília (government authorities).
How is the entity's board of directors composed and who are the members?
We are forming the association's board of directors, we already have legal support and we seek in our first meeting the best way to compose something that represents all the areas that we can contemplate.
How big is the Brazilian lottery market and how can it be compared with the activity in countries with a tradition of operating lotteries?
Speaking specifically of the digital market, we understand that we are far from the potential of mature markets. In these markets the share of digital reaches 0.74% of GDP, here we are at 0.23%.
How does AIDIGLOT intend to take the discussions on a harmonious coexistence with Caixa Econômica Federal and the conventional lottery network?
The main thing we are already promoting, the debate, the orientation and all that with meetings and calls. We understand that only in this way can we strengthen the ecosystem, bringing benefits and returns to the lottery market as a whole. After all, there are at least 20 Brazilian companies that offer this type of intermediation of lottery games through digital means.
Has AIDIGLOT already sought a rapprochement with Febralot, which brings together the lottery network that operates Caixa's lotteries?
Yes, we are pursuing this path as well.
How does AIDIGLOT see the current stage of lottery operation in Brazil taking into account the supremacy of the CEF at the moment and the existence of only four state lotteries in the country?
There is a lot of room for growth, a lot of opportunity in digital and a lot of benefit to be generated for the entire lottery ecosystem. After all, some of the associates and potential associates have been in the digital market for 20 years.
What assessment do you make of the statewide operation of lotteries and the intention of several states to operate in this segment?
I see it as part of a maturing process. In a country the size of ours, regulating the operation of lotteries, taking into account the interests and peculiarities of the region, is essential. We should look at what is being done globally, this is a trend.
CEF has sought state Procons to prevent companies from selling Caixa lotteries. How to overcome this resistance and what are the paths being followed by AIDIGLOT before Parliament and the Ministry of Economy, via Secap?
I understand that the path here is approximation, not distancing or veto. Explaining the potential of what intermediaries already do, if there is this approximation with the CEF, the thing only tends to bring benefits to all those involved. We are already performing on all fronts, the Chamber, Senate and lottery companies are already listening to us. The lottery ecosystem only tends to gain from this approach.
What are the main tools to guarantee the gambler security in internet betting from companies that sell the lottery modalities operated by CEF?
Certifications, studies, technologies that allow you to instantly cross-reference data, in addition to the constant investment in the evolution of systems that bring guarantees, security and data, always looking at the global market. These are some of the requirements that our group of intermediaries seeks to meet in order to better serve the customer. We understand the customer, we know who he is, the volume of bets he generates, we have his contact, constant communication and we still manage to bring up the issue of convenience at the time of the bet. We are the most interested in this transparency, and in showing how much intelligence and technology there is in what we are delivering. We know that our processes would help to mitigate risks, increase potential and all of that with innovation being the focus.
