The promotion, announced with the launch of the sponsorship on March 8, at Arena Castelão, was valid for the entire last month, ending days after the Conmebol draw, which defined the opponents and clashes of the first phase of the competition.
From the beginning, Betcris promised to cover airfare, accommodation, tickets for the match and transfers to the stadium. But, once again, it decided to go further: it took the fans on the same flight as the Fortaleza delegation, guaranteed accommodation in the same hotel as the athletes and the coaching staff, presented them with an official personalized club jersey and organized a breakfast with President Marcelo Paz.
In addition, Betcris obtained exclusive access to the press conference of the player Silvio Romero, on the eve of the historic confrontation. The meeting with the athlete was even recorded by the local press, featuring, for example, leading Argentine sports newspaper “Diário Olé”.
Throughout the trip, a Betcris representative was present with the group of fans, helping from the check-in at the airport to the return to Fortaleza.
“The promotion of Betcris together with Fortaleza, taking fans to live a historic experience of the club, is much more than a simple activation. It is above all a link between the Betcris brand and the achievements and dreams of Fortaleza fans,” declared Victor Simpson, the club's commercial manager, who also accompanied the winners of the promotion throughout the trip.
“I have no doubt that for those lucky ones who were able to travel with the squad and participated in moments that no other fan had access to, Betcris will forever be marked in the hearts of each one. These are experiences that money can't buy, but that Betcris as an official sponsor can provide to its customers and Leão fans,” added Victor.
Despite the 2-0 defeat to River Plate, all five fans called the trip "a dream come true". And Betcris “came home” with the same feeling and the desire to do even more.
In May it will be Ceará's turn
At the end of May, a new activation will heat up football in the Northeast, as it will be the turn to hug five fans from Ceará, who will also travel, all paid, to Argentina to watch the game between the ‘Vozão’ and Independiente, for the sixth and final round of the Copa Sudamericana group stage. The match will take place on the 25th of May.
Betcris, sponsor of the club since March, created the new activation due to the success achieved in sponsoring Ceará and as a way of honoring the support and engagement of the fans to the club and Betcris itself.
