Brazilian federal deputy Júlio Lopes stated that he is in favor of the activity because gaming already exists in the country, it is common and accepted in the society. “We have jogo do bicho on every corner of the whole country,” he says.
In this sense, the federal deputy pointed out that “Brazilians like to gamble, and so, we combine this with a huge flow of taxes and a huge lack of control on the part of the Union of the states in these processes.”
"That's because, we allow the export of gaming resource when the citizen plays online and throws that resource outside the country," said the federal deputy.
Therefore, Lopes highlighted that the legalization of casinos would make the gaming resources stay within the country under the administration of the Brazilian state, “destining the necessary proceeds for both health and education.”
“I see very clearly that we need to undertake the gaming activity in an open and clear way so that we can have the benefits that society needs,” concluded the federal deputy.
