Games Magazine Brasil spoke exclusively with the great sensation of Twitch and the Brazilian sports betting and fantasy games market, Casimiro Miguel Vieira da Silva Ferreira, or simply Casimiro or Cazé, about his meteoric career and the success he has been achieving on the internet.
Cazé is a journalist, presenter, sports commentator, digital influencer and Brazilian streamer who started his career on pay TV, also working on broadcast TV and who entered the digital world and boomed during the pandemic.
GMB - From show host on pay TV and then on open TV to a resounding success as revelation and best twitcher of the year. What can you say about this meteoric career that led you to become one of the biggest streamers in the world?
Casimiro - Man, to be honest, it's all been very fast in my life. It all started with the pandemic, when I saw things actually grow, gain more followers, subs, then I got covid-19 and stayed away for a while. In the meantime, seeing the crowd sending a message of positive energy, asking me to do the lives again soon, the chip started to drop from greatness. All this is very gratifying, seeing the affection of the kids on the street, in the comments, directs, it's awesome.
What have been your achievements over these years of career and what does this represent both in your personal and professional life?
I usually say that I am a well-accomplished person and I keep fulfilling new dreams. Having won, in 2021, the ‘Personality of the Year’ at the eSports Brasil Award among several cool people, and the iBest award as the best twitchter in Brazil were great achievements. Streaming the premiere episode of Neymar's series on Netflix was a milestone for me, and, in addition, I got to meet the squad of the Brazilian National Team. There are several achievements and all are a source of pride. On the personal side, I am very happy to be able to retire my parents and give them a more peaceful life.
Where did the expression “put this one, that turned into a meme on the internet, come from?
I think it was from the various reacts I've done, this “put this one” is like a “did you really do that?”. And it's funny, because it really caught the crowd.
You became the first streamer in the world to regularly stream league games. Is the Brasileirão championship, which is sponsored by Rei do Pitaco and Betway, doing well on your channel?
I'm really enjoying this moment, it's always been a dream to broadcast games on my live. I had already done a few, but a championship with some regularity is the first. I've been enjoying it a lot and with each new broadcasts, we seek to evolve more and more. That's what I always say on live: we work here to offer the best for the crowd.
Does the mix of football, humor and sports betting match? Is that combination what makes the difference and success of your channel?
I think it's a mixture of all that and other things. I started with football and then I was bringing very different content. Today, my audience knows what to expect here and they still bring new ideas. The difference really is who makes them, who watch me talking nonsense (laughs).
Speaking of sports betting, you've been betting against the moderator of your lives, Bolivia... So, who's winning?
This has been quite funny, Bolivia is more used to betting than I am, right? So, I thought he would be much better, but there's no way, right, the father understands football and other sports that I bet there on live. Jokes aside, but I think we are very similar, both being very irregular (laughs).
And in the bets you place on Tuesdays for the games of the week at Betway, how have you been doing and how do you study the odds?
To be very honest, I go on my hunches, my guess about the games. I usually interact and ask people on the chat too, sometimes they curse me, support me, I go with them or I go against it. In my live there's nothing serious, right, so I think making bets my way and guessing is cool too.
