The Jockey Club Brasileiro, always at the forefront of the activity, began the implementation of important measures and investments that will provide a leap in quality in the horse races promoted at Hipódromo da Gávea, in Rio de Janeiro.
President Raul Lima Neto signed in October 2021 a term of commitment with the American company Trakus, for the measurement of the partials of the races.
Trakus (trakus.com) equips some of the biggest racetracks in the world, such as Del Mar, Keeneland, Saratoga, Belmont Park, Gulfstream Park, Deauville (France), Singapore Turf Club (Singapore), Meydan (Dubai), Brisbane (Australia) ) and the, until Sunday, the only one in South America, Club Hípico, in Chile.
Soon, the races at Hipódromo da Gávea will have the partial times on the course measured and published in real time during the broadcast of the races, as usual in international races.
For this, the three tracks - sand, variant and large straight and grass - will be fully mapped, while the animals' blankets will carry a radio frequency transmitter (RTK) that will send the signal to a GPS antenna, located in the marquee of the tribune.
The signal will be sent to a satellite that captures the position of the animals on the track and forwards it directly to the computers, which will provide the graphical interface with the position of each animal and the appropriate partial distances on the transmission screen.
The story of each of the matches will be completely different from then on, with this data giving much more input to bettors, adding important and essential information in the retrospect lines.
