Loteria Mineira stands out in the national gaming scene, with almost 100 years of tradition in social investment through programs to encourage sports, education, health and development throughout the state. “The resources generated with lottery activities are destined to initiatives for the well-being of the population, through programs managed by the State Government,” says Ronan Moreira, General Director of the Lottery of the State of Minas Gerais (LEMG).
Since 2010, Intralot Brasil is the company responsible for the operational management of Loteria Mineira. As Sérgio Alvarenga, CEO of Intralot says, management focused on good practices and constant investments in innovation, marketing, logistics and new technologies are factors that contributed to the revenue obtained from lottery games. “It is a pleasure to know that efforts are being directed towards such important causes and benefiting so many people in vulnerable situations,” he says.
In addition to ‘Recupera Minas’, the income generated by Intralot through the Loteria Mineira games benefited the Absorvendo Dignidade project: R$ 2.6 million (US$ 530k) was directly invested in the creation of absorbent and diaper factories in prisons in the state. “We are proud of the results, possible thanks to the partnership with Loteria Mineira and the dealers and players, who trust in our products and services and guarantee this synergy,” says Sérgio Alvarenga. According to him, since the company took over the concession of Loteria Mineira games, in 2010, around R$ 50 million (US$ 10.2m) have already been invested in technologies and new terminals.
Of Greek origin and based in Brazil since 2008, Intralot arrived in the country with the mission of operating licensed lotteries in a safe, responsible, reliable and transparent manner, providing consistent experience to players, resellers and lotteries. Intralot Brasil is committed to investing in technological and modern solutions to provide exciting content and provide efficient services, generating value for all parties involved, in a sustainable way.
In March 2010, Intralot took another step in its expansion path and consolidated its presence in Latin America by signing a contract with Loteria do Estado de Minas Gerais. Intralot Brasil started the operation with the launch of the game Keno Minas. Then, the partnership originated the games Multiplix, Minas 5, Totolot, Totogol and Speed Race. All are available at more than 2,500 lottery terminals located at various points of sale.
At least 60% of the amount collected from the games is reverted to prizes, which explains the good adherence to them. More than R$ 1 billion (US$ 204m) has already been distributed in this way in Minas Gerais.
The Intralot Brasil operation also stands out as an important driving force in the state's economy, responsible for approximately 4 thousand jobs generated through the operation at its points of sale, present in 433 municipalities. In the last year, more than R$ 18 million (US$ 3.7m) were distributed in commission to resellers.
