Law No. 7,155 covers game modalities such as instant lottery and numerical and sports predictions. Under 18s will not be able to place bets. According to the rule, the Public Lottery Service of the Federal District is prohibited from exploiting all types of bingo games, casinos and other games of fortune, except the lottery.
This was one of the demands of the councilors against the approval of the project authored by the Executive. They ended up giving in as long as casinos and bingo games weren't allowed.
The new DF Lottery, approved by the District Chamber and which will be managed by Banco Regional de Brasília, will allocate 5% of the proceeds to professional football in the Federal District. The proposal was accepted in the vote on the matter in plenary and was made by deputy Eduardo Pedrosa.
According to the project, the amount collected from lottery games will have the following destinations, in addition to professional football in the Federal District:
* Payment of prizes and collection of taxes levied on the prize;
* DF social security;
* Financing the cost and investment of final activities considered socially relevant;
* Coverage of operating expenses and maintenance of lottery games;
* Sponsorship of sporting, cultural and leisure events.
Some amendments also added other destinations to the amounts collected: such as the Fund for the Generation of Employment and Income (Funger), the Penitentiary Fund of the Federal District (FUNPDF), entities in the areas related to people with disabilities, among others.
Law 7,155 defines that the Executive Branch will regulate the matter, but has not yet defined dates or models to be followed for the implementation of the DF Lottery.
