Towards the Brazilian iGaming Summit

Fabrizio Freitas: “Caleta will show at BiS its solutions and vocation to act strongly in Brazil”

Caleta Gaming is preparing for BiS and promises a lot of news at its booth. Head of marketing/analytics Fabrizio Freitas says that “with strong roots in Brazil, our expectations are high. In general, we expect debates on the main technological trends and market opportunities, especially regarding the regulation of the gaming segment in the country.” The company will present the latest releases: new games, engagement tools and promotions.

Participating as an exhibitor at the Brazilian iGaming Summit for the first time, Caleta Gaming intends to discuss the main technological trends and market opportunities, especially in view of the regulation of the gaming segment in the country. “We are looking forward to meeting new operators and aggregators interested in entering Latin America, a region where our games are highly popular,” comments Fabrizio Leal Freitas, head of marketing/analytics at Caleta.

GMB - What is Caleta's expectation on BiS 2022 and about its participation in the event?
Fabrizio Leal Freitas
- We are excited to participate this year at BiS as exhibitors. The event is strategic for Caleta, a company with strong roots in Brazil, so our expectations are high. In general, we expect debates on the main technological trends and market opportunities, especially regarding the regulation of the gaming segment in the country. We are also looking forward to meeting new operators and aggregators interested in entering Latin America, a region where our games are highly popular. For current customers we want to show our latest releases: new games, engagement tools and promotions. In addition, at our stand we will have very special surprises for visitors. It will be worth checking out!

What are the company's most important products and services to serve the Brazilian gaming market?
Caleta has a varied portfolio with five categories of games, video bingos, slots, kenos, lottos and scratchcards, in different themes. All of them perform well in Latin America, but video bingos are without a doubt the games that stand out the most. Their popularity in Latin countries is huge, and Brazil is no different. Anyway, we already have the vast majority of our products adapted and regionalized for the Brazilian market.

Another differential of our portfolio to serve the Brazilian market is the Halloween slot, whose online version we developed in partnership with RCT Gaming, the company that owns the game, using the mathematics and original assets of the land-based game Halloween's success story in the land-based market has lasting effects on the performance of the online segment in LATAM. Players love this title. It's no wonder that we've developed a whole family of games, including video bingo, keno, lotto and scratchcard, all with a Halloween theme.

How do you at Caleta analyze Brazil's growth in the gaming segment and what are your expectations regarding the regulation of sports betting in the country?
In our perception, the gaming segment in Brazil is heating up at an increasingly accelerated pace. Caleta's focus is on online gaming, but we are following the regulation of sports betting closely, as this process will indicate how the other regulations will evolve. We have great expectations and are preparing a lot for the opening of Brazil as a regulated market in the gaming segment.

At what point do you see the local gaming market in general and its evolution from a political and regulatory point of view?
I believe that advances in the pursuit of game regulation have been enormous, but we still have a long way to go. The political issues linked to the subject imply slowness in Brazil, this characteristic is not new for those who know our country, even more so in an election year. We continue to monitor the process, contributing in whatever we can and, above all, preparing for the opening of this market.

With the regulation of sports betting, does Caleta have plans to grow in Brazil and contribute even more to the local market?
Caleta is a company born in Brazil, based in Florianópolis, SC. Our team today is made up of 23 people, all Brazilians. A year ago we had less than half of this team, that is, we are constantly growing. Since the beginning, we have contributed to the local market, generating jobs and taxes. We are convinced that when Brazil becomes a regulated market, this growth will be multiplied. Not only do we know the local culture, but we also experience it daily, a factor that is certainly very important for those who intend to work here in Brazil. In addition to the products already located, another favorable point is the fact that we are familiar with the business and work models practiced in Brazil.

After sports betting, we believe that the regulation of online gaming will come, which is Caleta's main business segment. We are prepared for a leading role in this market, both in Brazil and in Latin America.
