One of the most potential events in the gaming industry took place in Malta from the 24th to the 26th of May 2022. Casino Beats Malta definitely surprised all participants with its quality and professionalism.
Still considered a “young” event, compared to others in the sector, Casino Beats Malta had more than 30 global exhibitors, lectures and “round table” style discussions, which featured professionals of the highest caliber and experience worldwide.
Among the most discussed topics with regard to the Brazilian market, I can say that the most important was about adaptation, also commonly known as localization of products and marketing materials.
Commitment, seriousness, persistence, local knowledge and a good working capital are just some of the requirements for the sports betting operator that wants to enter Brazil.
Innovative solutions for various sectors and sub-sectors of the online gaming industry were also presented. The sports betting sector also had a great focus on the part of the participants. It was noticeable that most of them were interested in the topic of social gambling, where safe communities are formed around the same interest in gaming. It is something already very common in Europe, but still new in Brazil and Latin America.
I had the honor of moderating and participating in a roundtable where we discussed opportunities and challenges in Latin American markets. Several questions of varied interests were asked and the exchange of information and knowledge flowed in a highly productive way.
Another equally important point was regarding the verification and validation of Brazilian documents, the famous KYC (know your client). It is common knowledge that Brazil has one of the world's highest rates of cybercrime and identity theft. Being aware of this problem and introducing practices for its management is of paramount importance.
On May 26th, I participated as a speaker on a panel on the potential of Latin American markets. Panel moderated by competent colleague Samanta Assensi, who also had the participation of esteemed friend Roberto Regianini, as well as Neil Simpson and Peter Murray.
The interest of participants in the Brazilian market remains remarkable, which was highlighted during the discussions. Even after the panel, I was approached by several executives who had the most varied questions and inquiries about the Brazilian and Latin American markets.
