Daniella Marques replaces Pedro Guimarães

New Caixa president commanded the secretariat that regulates sports betting and lotteries

Daniella Marques has just been named the new president of Caixa Econômica Federal to replace Pedro Guimarães. Until then, at the head of the Special Secretariat for Productivity and Competitiveness, responsible for regulating sports betting and lotteries, Marques is very close to Paulo Guedes, Minister of Economy, of whom she was a partner in the private sector before joining the government of Jair Bolsonaro.

Daniella Consentino Marques was appointed to the presidency of Caixa Econômica Federal in place of Pedro Guimarães. Graduated in Business Administration from PUC in Rio de Janeiro and with an MBA in Finance, she worked for 20 years in the financial market before entering government in 2018. Marques was Guedes’ partner at Bozano Investimentos before both took up their positions in public administration with the inauguration of Jair Bolsonaro.

At the head of the Special Secretariat for Productivity and Competitiveness of the Ministry of Economy, Daniella Marques became responsible for the regulation, authorization and inspection of free prize distribution activities, as well as those related to the regulation of lotteries and other modalities that involve payment of prizes such as sweepstakes and horse races.

The new president of Caixa replaces Pedro Guimarães, who asked for his resignation after serious and shameful allegations of sexual harassment by Pedro Guimarães against CEF employees.

Daniella Marques, 42 years old, was a sensible choice both from the economic point of view, since she worked for 20 years in the financial market, as well as from the political point of view, since after accusations of sexual harassment by Guimarães, the president of República nominated a woman to occupy the presidency of Caixa Econômica Federal.
