In principle, the new company will work under four pillars:
“To build a relevant and competitive team, we moved from the inside out and looked for talent in the market in this field, who really live the world of eSports. Thus, we combine the native knowledge of BD professionals with our communication skills to establish a truer connection with our audiences,” highlights Rodolfo Medina, Executive President of the Dreamers Group.
Founded in 1997, when electronic sports did not yet exist in Brazil, BD gained prominence in 2016 with the arrival of Nicolle Merhy, the company's current leader. Nicolle began her career at age 19, being the only female professional athlete to play in the major championships of Rainbow Six Siege, one of the most played and watched games in the world.
“Being at the side of Grupo Dreamers brings us a new range of possibilities within the universe of games. I am very excited to be able to lead this new story, and the expectations of this partnership are the best possible!”, emphasizes Nicolle Merhy.
BD accumulates dozens of national titles and three world titles, in addition to being chosen, by popular vote, as The Best eSports Organization in Brazil, in 2018, by the “ESports Brasil Award”, the most important ceremony in Latin America. The company is headquartered in “Caverna do Dragão”, a space in São Paulo.
The announcement of the partnership comes just over a month after Black Dragons is now fully managed by Nicolle Merhy. Game ambassador for Nike, Forbes Under 30 and known as Cherrygumms, the businesswoman became the sole partner of the eSports team after buying the entire stake of her former partner. According to Nicolle, the decision was matured throughout 2022 and formalized in June, by mutual agreement.
