The sector enters the election

O Globo keeps an eye on odds of betting sites for candidates to president of Brazil

One of Brazil's main daily newspapers is very attentive to the odds for the October presidential election. In an article analyzing the topic, O Globo highlights that betting sites, so well-known in football, are now paying attention to the race of candidates for the Palácio do Planalto. “In addition to bet365, Sportingbet, Sportsbet.io, Betfair, Galera.Bet and BetWay are some of the betting houses that offer this market,” indicates the newspaper.

There is no longer any doubt about the continuous growth of bookmakers in the country, where they are slowly gaining ground in the daily lives of Brazilians. Known for their strong presence in football, where all the teams in the Brasileirao Series A have some kind of sponsorship with companies in the sector, they are also fully involved in the next presidential elections in Brazil. In this way, it emerges as another parameter to consider which of the candidates has the best chance of winning the race.

A favorite in the polls, Lula, from PT political party, appears with an odd of 1.57, on bet365, to assume the post of President of the Republic, the lowest among the candidates.

The current president Jair Bolsonaro, from the PL party, comes right after with a quote of 2.25 to be re-elected. In third place in the polls, former minister Ciro Gomes, from PDT, is also present on the sites with an odd of 67, that is, if someone bets R$100, would get in return R$6,700.

Note that this rating does not differ if the candidate wins in the first or second round. Even, some houses have the candidate's bet to reach the second round, and Lula and Bolsonaro are the favorites for this situation. In addition to Bet365, Sportingbet, Sportsbet.io, Betfair, Galera.Bet and BetWay are some houses that offer this market.

Simone Tebet, from the MDB, who is in fourth place in the polls, does not appear in the bookmakers list, as well as the other candidates. The sites do not have quotations for the election of governor, state deputy, federal deputy and senator.
