Betsson's 'Worst World Team Sponsorship' campaign gets three nominations for Effie Awards Brazil

Betsson's sponsorship campaign for the “Worst team in the world”, Íbis Sport Club, was nominated in the shortlist of the renowned Brazilian advertising Effie Awards. This year, 163 finalists compete for the award, in numerous categories, especially “Influencer”, “Social Media” and “David and Goliath”. The good surprise for the betting sector is that Bold agency was nominated in the three of them with the campaign created for Betsson.

The advertising and publicity sector in Brazil is considered one of the most creative in the world and capable of engaging fans of products and services in all economic segments.

And one campaign in particular is worth mentioning. This is Betsson's sponsorship of Íbis Sport Club, from Pernambuco, which happily enjoys the title of "worst team in the world."

Because it was thanks to this “bad” – and illusory – placement in the world ranking of football clubs that Betsson bet its chips and created a big synergy by becoming the master sponsor of Íbis.

And thanks to this vision of André Gelfi, managing partner of Betsson in Brazil, of joining one of the largest bookmakers in the world to Íbis, he took the campaign created by Bold agency to the final of one of the most important awards in Brazilian advertising, the Effie Awards, in which the company competes in three categories: ‘David and Goliath’, ‘Influencer’ and ‘Social Media’.

Betsson had already achieved international recognition with the same campaign, during the Festival Ojo Iberoamerica, one of the most important awards ceremonies for marketing and creativity, with a Latin perspective in the world, that took place in Argentina. On that occasion, Betsson was awarded for the launch of BetssonFC, the company's fantasy game in Brazil, which generated buzz to increase the engagement of Betsson and Íbis.

The grand finale of the Effie Awards takes place on November 8, in São Paulo.
