Betsson continues its commitment to Peruvian soccer’s highest division

As a global sports betting and online casino operator, Betsson is committed to promoting the development and growth of Peruvian soccer, supporting the advancement through values associated with sports entertainment and responsible gaming. In line with this commitment, the company is maintaining its ties with the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) for the naming rights of the first division of professional soccer in Peru.

This partnership will not only enhance the excellence and professionalisation of the sport, but also promote responsible and safe gambling for all participants.

Just ahead of the start of the Apertura Tournament, Betsson and the FPF are making sure that this edition of the tournament is the best one yet.

With this agreement, Liga 1 will retain its current name and Betsson’s logo will continue to be featured in various visual and digital materials, as well as in the corporate identity of the Liga 1 Betsson 2023 championship.

The FPF Director of Competitions, Héctor Lara, expressed excitement at maintaining the alliance with a brand as important as Betsson, stating that, “better sponsorships allow us to continue optimising the economic value of the first division of professional soccer, invest in sports infrastructure, in the development of young players, and expands the reach and visibility of Liga 1. As the FPF, we are committed to elevating Peruvian soccer to its rightful place, and we are dedicated to this goal. We are constantly working to achieve this.”

It is worth noting that Betsson initially acquired the rights to the name of Liga 1 in 2021, with an agreement that allows for a change in naming after 20 years. This agreement solidifies Betsson’s support for the tournament and aligns with the company’s #JuegoResponsable (#ResponsibleGaming) campaign, which today also becomes the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF)’s ally.
