Konami becomes new partner of Atlético-MG, will have new Arena MRV in eFootball 2023

Japanese video game developer Konami has announced an agreement with Atlético-MG to become the club's new exclusive video game partner. The contract, which did not have exact values disclosed, grants the company the rights to use the team's logo and emblems for promotional activities in eFootball, rebranding of the popular Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) series of games.

One of the main highlights of the agreement will be the faithful recreation of the club's new home, the MRV Arena, in eFootball 2023. It is worth remembering that there will be an extensive opening schedule for the stadium throughout the first half of this year, and the partnership will allow fans from all over the world to interact with the arena, which will be the most technological in Latin America.

“We are delighted to place the new home of ‘Galo’, the MRV Arena, which will open in 2023, in this important partnership with Konami. In this digital world, this contributes to bringing the club even closer to younger fans,” highlighted Bruno Muzzi, CEO of Atlético-MG.

The contract also includes integrated marketing and commercial collaboration on and off the pitech, with the eFootball brand highly visible in all promotional content related to the club, such as backdrops for press conferences and plaques around the Training Center fields.

Finally, Konami and Atlético-MG will also work in partnership in the execution of eSports initiatives and in “promoting the competitive spirit of the game” so that a new generation of fans can interact and support the club. More details on that part of the deal will be revealed soon.

“Atlético-MG demonstrates how football crosses cultures and generations, and we are proud to be an official sponsor of this extraordinary team. The newest chapter in this joint venture will offer fresh experiences to our fans and allow us to reach new enthusiasts through eFootball,” said Yuta Kose, President of Konami Digital Entertainment.
