“In this new role, I will drive our location and in-office collection strategies while maintaining the push for continuous process improvement and quality excellence - increasing our ability to quickly and easily bring new deals and projects to life,” explained Pedro to GMB.
“I started as an in-venue data Scout back at the end of 2007, became the first Scout Manager from Brazil, then took over the whole Americas before taking the Director of Field Operations role and moving to Portugal. After only one year I accepted the challenge to lead our Aveiro Center of Excellence which I now handover to Fernando Gutiérrez,” recalls Pedro in a brief review of his career.
Teixeira Nicolau was born in Campinas and his strong relationship with sport was reflected when he was Football Director of the Ponte Preta club, back in 2014. He assembled the team that was vice champion of Série B that year.
The Brazilian is passionate about the collection of sports data and one of the pioneers of the activity in the country. In late 2007, he began traveling around Brazil to cover football and volleyball matches, collecting live events in real time as a Scout Manager for Perform Content.
Eight years later, the enormous accumulated experience and his specialization in the area led Pedro to assume the role of Local Operations Manager first and Regional Operations Manager later for Grupo Perform.
Already in 2019, Perform merged with Stats and Nicolau continued his rising career, but this time from Europe. The Brazilian was transferred to Aveiro, Portugal, to occupy the position of Head of Field Operations and be responsible for Stats Perform's global in venue data collection operation/network and development of company’s market leading sports data collection tools (Opta, RunningBall, SportVU).
In 2020, he became Director of Business Operations where he was responsible for the Data Center of Excelence based in Portugal with 600+ employees, and the performance Data and Betting Data provided to customers such as Clubs, Betting Operators, Media, Broadcasters and Official Rights Holders all over the world.
Stats Perform became the market-leading sports technology company across media and tech, betting, and team performance by revolutionizing the richest sports data with unrivaled artificial intelligence.
The company embraces and solves the dynamic nature of sport – be that for digital and broadcast media with differentiated storytelling, tech companies with reliable and fast data to power their own innovations, sportsbooks with in-play betting, or teams with first-of-its-kind AI analysis software.
Stats Perform has a deep involvement in Brazilian football as an official partner of betting and data rights of the CBF for the series A and B. Last year, the Federação Paulista de Futebol (FPF) also chose the company as an official data partner of the of Paulistão.
The agreement, pioneer in Brazil, has a duration of four years and follows a trend that has developed in Europe and the United States in the main leagues of the world, such as the NFL, NBA and Premier League.
“Stats Perform is extremely proud to have a championship as incredible as Paulistão joining its long-term relationship with the CBF/Brasileirão,” says Alex Rice, leader of Stats Perform's law enforcement area.
