The behind the scene information is that the starry sponsor is the bookmaker Betfair, which was even in negotiation with the club. For this, Cruzeiro has already agreed to the termination of the contract with Pixbet, another betting house that stamped the ‘fox’ shirt.
Currently, the brand that stamps the most valuable space of the club shirt is the Bh Supermarkets, in an old bond and that came to have early funds in past managements. The information of the club's hit with a new sponsor, whose name was not revealed, was released on Saturday (31) by journalist Samuel Venâncio on his Youtube channel.
Currently, the heavenly sponsors are Adidas (supplier of sports equipment), Brahma, Buser, Champiom, CIMED, Gerdau, MM car rental, Saudali, Sólides and Stats Perform. Of these, Saudali already has the renewal guaranteed for 2023.
In the current quotation, the sponsorship would be smaller only than that of Flamengo and Palmeiras. The Rio’s team has the largest master sponsorship in Brazil, in the amount of R$ 32 million (US$ 6m), and a shirt worth R$ 130 million (US$ 24.5m). While Palmeiras collects R$ 81 million (US$ 15.3m) in master sponsorship and shirt value.
A possible great sponsorship had also been anticipated by journalist Paulo Vinícius Coelho, from Grupo Globo, in mid-September. "Cruzeiro promises to announce in the coming weeks the third largest shirt sponsorship contract. This does not include Crefisa (Palmeiras), but would pay more than the betting site (Betano) in Atlético and Fluminense", said PVC, at the time, in the podcast "A Mesa".
