The online betting company will print the jersey of the team that, after three years, is back in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship. The agreement signed is for the master sponsorship of the men's team and also includes an important space for brand exposure on the women's uniform - on the back, at the top.
The contract model is innovative, based on the culture of cooperation and provides for deliveries that go beyond the properties on the shirts. A series of activities will be aimed directly at the 10 million fans that make up the ‘Nação Azul’ (Blue Nation), such as raffles and prizes for VIP tickets and official products, exclusive promotions and unique experiences with the participation of team’s talent.
Betfair also guarantees brand exposure in all Cruzeiro digital media, training uniforms, interview backdrops, prism in the stadium, logo on the team bus and launch of a customized program of club legends.
Kimberley Daly, managing director of Betfair International, stated: "We are very excited about this partnership, as we will have the opportunity to support Cruzeiro at a special and important moment in its 100+ year history."
Daly stated that "this partnership is a demonstration of Betfair's commitment and investment in the club's professional men's and women's teams, without losing focus on what is most precious to Cruzeiro: the fans."
"With Betfair, the game is different, and we put fans at the center of everything we do to bring them experiences that only Betfair can offer," concluded the executive.
The sponsorship agreement began this month, in the midst of the club's 102nd anniversary celebrations, with an initial validity of two years.
One of the greatest players in the history of world football, Ronaldo Nazário could not be left out of the celebration of this partnership. The former striker - who started his career at Cruzeiro and is currently is the manager of the club - is also an official ambassador for Betfair. The ‘Fenômeno’ participated in the announcement from inside the pitch and will be involved in several activations of the brand with the team.
"Our plans for Cruzeiro are ambitious and the arrival of Betfair is, without a doubt, a milestone in this new phase. The efficient, responsible and sustainable management work that we proposed when joining the club last year gains even more credibility with this novelty," expressed Ronaldo.
"Having the support of a multinational and publicly traded company at this moment is a relevant and deserved vote of confidence in our team. I am very proud and I am sure the fans are too," he added.

This Saturday (28), Cruzeiro faced Ahtletic at Arena Independência for the second round of the 2023 Mineiro Championship. Fans witnessed the assembly of a mosaic in the stadium stands that revealed the team's mantle for the 2023 season with the new master sponsor, Betfair.
The buzz around the revelation started in the previous match, against Patrocinense, on January 21st. Cruzeiro debuted in the Campeonato Mineiro with the white shirt stamped with a question mark in place of the master sponsor. The action left fans curious and fueled speculation on social media.
