The appointment of Leonardo Montenegro Chaves as country manager Brazil meets Okto's goal of becoming a reference in the area of digital payments. Announcing the hire, Okto states that “it is a pleasure to introduce our newest team member, looking forward to taking Okto in Brazil to new heights.”
With more than 20 years of experience in national and multinational companies, Leonardo Chaves marked his career at the head of large corporations, such as Cielo, where he developed and expanded the business area in the role of commercial director, as well as sales director LatAm at Ingenico, a company that develops smart terminals and cloud-based payment platforms with a presence in almost 40 countries.
"Leonardo brings his entrepreneurial attitude and wide payment experience onboard while being responsible for setting up OKTO's operations in the region. We're excited to have Leonardo join us and we look forward to all the great contributions he'll make to our team,” states the company.
In a recent exclusive interview with GMB, Galina Bineva, Okto's commercial director, had already anticipated the great interest in the Brazilian market. "Its economy and population size combined with the rapidly evolving payments industry make it a highly attractive market. The payments landscape in Brazil is dynamic and competitive, which is why our strategy is based on cutting-edge innovation combined with a local approach", she stated.
The company recently arrived in Brazil with the goal of cooperating with local partners, as it does in all the countries where it operates, as "we always have a detailed view of the specifics of each market - including payment behavior, habits, mentality and challenges," explained the executive.
OKTO offers a comprehensive and reliable payment platform that enables responsible digital payments across the full range of consumer experiences and requirements. Its all-in-one platform unlocks multiple payment options through its fully integrated suite of payment solutions in Latin America.

“Cross Border is also part of our offer, boosting the growth of partners inside and outside Brazil in a safe and fast way. In addition, it strengthens its presence with solutions that are already successful in Europe and localizes them for the Latin American market”, highlighted Galina.
