Botafogo announces Parimatch as master sponsor for two years

As several media outlets finally informed, Parimatch and Botafogo announced a master sponsorship contract valid until the end of 2024. Although the figures were not disclosed, the agreement is the biggest in the club's history. With 6 million registered users on four continents, this is the first important step for European bookmakers in Brazil.

Now it's official. As of this Friday, January 6, 2023, Botafogo already has a new master sponsor. The club signed a contract with bookmaker Parimatch, which will occupy the main space in the team's uniform for the next two years.

This is the biggest sponsorship contract in Botafogo's 128-year history, which in early 2022 approved the creation of the club's SAF, acquired by businessman John Textor through the Eagle Football holding company, of which he is the president. The contract is valid from January 2023 to December 2024.

The partnership will be of great importance in Parimatch's growth plans in Brazil. At the same time, as it has an international scope, it will also contribute to Botafogo's expansion plans.

Botafogo is experiencing a period of international repositioning with the growth of Eagle Football, and is restructuring itself in all sectors to attract the best partners. We are happy to be the club chosen by Parimatch, a giant in the betting market, to expand its business across Brazil. Great satisfaction in signing the biggest sponsorship contract in the club's history. Welcome Parimatch,” said John Textor, President of Eagle Football.

In Brazil, football is not just a game – it is a cultural phenomenon that brings people together. It unites young and old, women and men, rich and poor, making the blood run through your veins faster while watching or playing your favorite game. We were looking for a team that shared our values, had a rich history, loyal fans and BIG ambitions for the future. We are sure we have found the RIGHT one — Botafogo. It is a great honor for us to join this team and conquer new heights together! Let's start the new year strong and continue to support and grow the sports industry in Brazil,” said Anton Rublievskyi, CEO of Parimatch International.

Parimatch's campaign to bring its users closer to Botafogo, one of the most traditional football clubs in Brazil, took shape on Friday (6), when the company sent email marketing to its users asking them to answer a question in a Google form indicating who would be the club to be sponsored by the Cyprus-based sportsbook. To those who answered correctly, Parimatch will draw an iPhone.

Founded in 1894, Botafogo has more than 4 million fans in Brazil and worldwide. In March 2022, Botafogo became SAF (private football clubs) and John Textor took over as majority shareholder. Botafogo is a forerunner of the professionalization of Brazilian football, being the first top-tier club to be acquired by a foreign investor.

The SAF opened new perspectives and new investments, and the current moment is special in historical terms. With this new structure, Botafogo became part of the Eagle Football Holdings multi-club network, which repositioned the Club on a new level of global strategy alongside Olympique Lyon, Crystal Palace and RWD Molenbeek.

Internationally recognized for being the club where some of the best known athletes of all time played, such as Garrincha and Nilton Santos, it is popularly known as "O Glorioso" and called by its fans "The Most Traditional Club" due to its history of greatness.

Parimatch is a global betting brand that integrates technology, business and sports to deliver limitless entertainment based on innovation. Established in 1994, Parimatch has grown to become one of the leading bookmakers in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. The company operates through partners in the franchise model.

Parimatch operates with a primarily digital positioning and is continually developing and improving the quality of its customers' experience, which is enjoyed by 600,000 active users every month and a total of 6 million registered users in four continents.
